“What? Oransi? I’ve never heard of the brand before. Are you sure they make good air purifier?”

If that’s your reaction upon hearing the Oransi V-HEPA Finn air purifier, you’d be forgiven. You’re not the first person with such reaction. In fact, most fellow allergy sufferers I spoke to gave me the same reaction. After all, the brand has just been around for less than a decade. The fact that the brand chose to become an air purifier specialist (rather than making all kinds of mainstream household appliances) makes it even less exposed other than to well, air purifier seekers like us.

Does Oransi V-HEPA Finn Deliver?

Knowing what to Expect

First of all, it is good to note that the Oransi V-HEPA Finn air purifier is positioned as the brand’s mid-range model. It is definitely not designed to take on the big boys in the likes of IQAir or even its big brother, the Erik line-up of air purifiers.

This is clearly evident if we simply take a look at the filter structure. The air filtration path consists of only 2 stages – pre-filter and v-hepa. If you’d gone through enough air purifier reviews, you’d have realized by now that it takes 5-7 stages for the best air purifier models to get the job done really well.

To be fair, you need to compare this with other air purifiers that are roughly in the same price band (Oreck AirInstinct 75 and Blueair 203W HepaSilent are two examples). If you do your homework right, you’d discover that the Oransi Finn offers better value for money.

It is powerful enough to be deployed in room size up to 400 sqft. Compare that with AirInstinct’s 248 sqft and Blueair 203W’s 175 sqft. The number certainly appears compelling but remember that this should not be the only parameter consideration. For example, Oreck AirInstinct is equipped with True-HEPA but not for the Oransi Finn.

Bid Farewell to Sinus Congestion

Last Christmas, I decided to get my parents an air purifier for their Christmas gift. Instead of getting all the sexy new gadgets, I opted for an air purifier because during my last few weekend stay with them, I realize that my mom tend to suffer from itching skins, burning eyes (ocular allergies) and sinus congestion.

I didn’t remember my mom having such bad allergy problems before. But when I read recently that pollen counts are on the rise thanks to global warming, I began to understand why.

Since my parents are living with 2 of their beloved dogs, my choices were between the Oransi V-HEPA Finn and Rabbit Air MinusA2. Since it was not for my own use, I asked my parents to select without telling them any information about the two air purifier models. Somehow, they chose Oransi over Rabbit Air. I’m not sure why. Maybe they saw that this looks like a cheaper alternative and they didn’t want me to fork up huge credit card bill after Christmas is over.

But anyhow, my point is this air cleaner from Oransi seems to work really well. My mom told me how she used to wake up stuffed every morning. Not long after the air purifier was installed, she no longer wakes up to the allergy symptoms that used to make her mornings so miserable.

A Low Risk Investment?

The fact that you’re looking for an air purifier tells me that you must have been suffering from unpleasant allergy or asthmatic symptoms. As far as I’m aware of, most people would turn to their allergist-prescribed drug or nasal sprays for relief.

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong to that. But medication is just one piece of the puzzle when we talk about reducing the allergies or improving our health being. In fact, ensuring proper ventilation and clearing up junks from your home are equally important and highly recommended steps.

And if you’re looking to an air purifier to further improve your well-being, then I think it is an investment that has to be properly considered. As with any investment, there’s always a risk involved. While I can attest that the Oransi V-HEPA Finn air purifier works well for my case (my parents rather), there are 3 possible cases that you might experience. It could be equally well, worse or maybe better than my experience.

But if you ask me, all I can say is investing in Oransi V-HEPA Finn is a rather low risk to start with.
